Dollar General Literacy Foundation Donation

For a second consecutive year, we, at Future Unleashed, would like to offer very sincere gratitude to the Dollar General Literacy Foundation for awarding us a grant in support of our 2016 summer literacy program again, this year. With their help, we were able to: create partnerships with several small, local churches and to pool our resources on behalf of our literacy program and on behalf of their youth outreach ministries in order to serve even more students than we had planned (36% increase from the number of students we had planned to serve and with a 82% retention rate, due to summer band and football practices); purchase four more computers to add to our computer lab, now that we have an enrichment center based in Snow Hill, NC; purchase student dictionaries to strengthen spelling, vocabulary, and students’ ability to research; purchase simulation and other educational software; purchase a projector, instructional materials, other instructional aid, maps, and classroom supplies for the students; and pay for program incentives in the form of educational field trips.

The success of our summer literacy program and our year-round literacy program was and is only made possible through Dollar General Literacy Foundation's generosity. They chose to sponsor us for another year and had enough confidence in us and our project to encourage us to reapply for the grant. For that, we will forever be thankful.

Dollar General is one of few major corporations that are truly committed to remaining involved with the local communities. It is very difficult for small, local non-profits to get buy-in from major corporations, yet Dollar General is committed to standing by their word and to help increase literacy, even in the far and most remote regions of the country. It is for these reasons and more that Future Unleashed strive to reciprocate Dollar General’s loyalty to the small, community-based non-profits and to the local community.

Golden Corral Desktop Computer Donation

We, at Future Unleashed, would like to thank Golden Corral Corporate Office for their continued support of our efforts to establish after-school programs and corresponding computer labs at churches and community centers throughout rural eastern North Carolina's Tier-1 counties. Your donation (for a second consecutive year) of two more new desktop computers is greatly appreciated and much-needed. A very heart-felt "Thank You" goes out to Golden Corral Corporate Office for all of your genuine and avid support.
